Fang - Northern Thailand

Fang is a District (Amphoe) located in the north of Chiang Rai province, justly famed for its local orange production. The district's centre is the small town of Fang and on the surface its just another sleepy little provincial town. However, like all good stories, there's a lot more too it than that! The casual dismissal of Fang by (usually) reputable online and guide-book sources is quite unjust. It makes an excellent base from which to explore the nearby mountains and villages, and there are several excellent loop roads which traverse delightful countryside.
